What the College Teachers Learned from High School Teachers in MSP
Abstract
Two faculty members share how their own pedagogical practice has shifted after spending two summers working with high school teachers as part of the MSP in NYC project. The authors explain how they have started to take learning goals into consideration as an integral part of lesson planning...."We now think about student learning explicitly. We now use a new methodology (new to us) that provides us, instructors, with a starting point to plan or to re-evaluate a course from the learner's perspective. This methodology requires us to prepare and conduct our lessons in a manner we had not used at the college level."
